Javier Milei, President of Argentina, is traveling abroad again: what will be the agenda for his European tour?

This Thursday, Milei plans to visit Europe once more, where he will be honored and participate in a series of meetings.

President Javier Milei is set to travel again tomorrow with a new itinerary. This Thursday he plans to visit Europe once more, where he will be honored and participate in a series of meetings.

Following his presence at the G7 in Italy and participation in the Peace Summit in Switzerland, the libertarian leader will embark on the second leg of his international tour, which includes a visit to Spain, a stopover in Germany, and a final stop in the Czech Republic.

Despite ongoing tension with his counterpart Pedro Sánchez, stemming from allegations of corruption against his wife Begoña Gómez, Milei will return to Madrid on the 21st to receive the award from the Juan de Mariana Institute.

He is expected to be received by the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who will present him with the International Medal of the Community of Madrid.

Later that day, President Milei will receive the 2024 Juan de Mariana Award at the Real Casino de Madrid, where he will speak for 30 minutes alongside Jesús Huerta de Soto and other academic figures.

On Saturday, June 22, Javier Milei will travel to Hamburg, Germany, where he will receive the Hayek Society Award and deliver a 50-minute lecture. From there, he will journey to Berlin, where on Sunday, June 23, he will meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

On Monday, June 24, he will meet with business leaders from the Czech Republic in Prague, followed by a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

Meanwhile, the Spanish government has cautioned the Argentine president regarding his statements: “We hope that in his statements, he maintains respect for Spanish institutions and the Spanish people,” spokesperson Pilar Alegría demanded.

When asked about Milei’s upcoming visit to Spain, Alegría responded, “We are unaware of the President of Argentina’s agenda. What we can say is that if this trip takes place, we expect him to uphold respect for Spanish institutions and the Spanish people in his statements, if any.”

These warnings from the Spanish official come ahead of the president’s new trip, during which he will be in Madrid to receive the Juan de Mariana Institute award “for his defense of ideas of liberty.”
